This position is a temporary (contract) position up to 3 months but could be extended or shortened as needed. This role will work 1st shift hours : 6:30AM - 3:00PM The Logistics Technician will report to the Warehouse Marketplace Operations Managers and will be in direct support of the business unit logistical effort. This position will work in support of the LSP ensuring Material flow within warehouse operations. Meet the team: In support of Warehouse Operations, our team members support everything from receiving to packing and shipping of materials. The warehouse is at the core of our operations, assuring that Team Airbus members and our customers get the materials they need to be successful. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. Your challenges: Maintaining an inventory of parts within the marketplace and ensuring their safety and security Conducting parts accuracy audits of Mobile Delivery Units (MDUs) in order to ensure accuracy of material delivered to the flowline in support of flowline build plans Retrieval and delivery of parts to specified locations Inventory and Monitor Free-stock and Consumable bins Assist in maintaining a clean and organized logistical operation ensuring adherence to 5S methodologies Basic data entry using keyboard and computer Conduct parts bin and delivery unit audits Other work as assigned Your boarding pass: High School diploma or equivalent 3 years of experience in warehouse operations or inventory required. Ability to work within a team - Effective communication is a must - Must be able to receive direction and work independently with minimal supervision - Must possess a valid state driver’s license Physical Requirements: Onsite or remote: 100% onsite Vision: adequate to enter and read material on computer screens. Able to identify individuals to initiate greetings, the giving of directions and other business interactions Hearing: able to hear sufficiently to engage in conversation in office settings; Able to hear safety alerts and warning signals. Speaking: able to engage in conversations in person and via electronic means and deliver information to groups of varying size with or without amplification. Equipment Operation: Able to operate a wide range of tools and equipment including hydraulic lifts and arms. Carrying: able to occasionally carry up to 20lbs/9kg while engaging in training, addressing production issues or as part of continuous improvement projects. Lifting: able to occasionally lift up to 30lbs/14kg. Pushing/Pulling: able to push/pull items in office areas and on the shop floor. Sitting: able to sit for extended periods of time at the computer and in meetings. Squatting/Kneeling: able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved on bottom shelves. Standing: able to stand for extended periods of time delivering information.
